Welcome to Horfield Welly

We see children as natural explorers. Child initiated play allows children the time and space  to choose how to use resources and to learn from their own experiences. This is enriched by our dedicated team of early years practitioners.

Staff at Welly are highly qualified with a wealth of experience in early Years and a genuine love of working with young children. We are dedicated to supporting children’s learning and development, as well as having a strong caring and nurturing ethos which has the well-being of our Welly family at its heart.

We are very proud of how we prepare our children for their formal education with a strong emphasis on supporting children to develop independence and ensuring they begin school as confident, secure individuals.

Horfield Welly is an Ofsted registered,  "pack away" setting operating from Horfield Parish Church Hall. We also run a toddler group in the hall on Mondays from 10am - 11:30am, term time only.

We are a registered charity, overseen by a volunteer, parent-led Pre-school Committee. This means that all session fees and money raised through our fundraising events go directly back into enriching the children’s learning and development.

Our curriculum is based on The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). To find out more, and to access the Parents’ Guide to the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, please click here.

We have a very active private Facebook group for families of current children where we share reminders, updates and photos of what we have been up to, and where parents can share ideas and information.
